Over the years I’ve done a bit of judging of PR campaigns and the entries are, to tell the truth, often quite mundane. But there are always a couple that catch your eye for their ingenuity and brilliance of execution.
Here’s one that for me has “future winner” written all over it. It’s just beautiful.
The WRVS #grandmakers campaign brings the WRVS into the 21st century but doesn’t try to pretend that its members are young. It shows them as they are – wrinkly, smiley, friendly and full of vitality.
Members give masterclasses in making things – from bread to cushion covers. It’s a great digital campaign that combines video, Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest. It offers a model for similar organisations of how to “do” a social wall.
And it’s beautifully designed.
